Supervised Bodyboarding.

What’s it all about?

Bodyboarding is an excellent way to enjoy the ocean, it’s safe and easy to learn. At Alive Adventures we’ve started offering supervised bodyboarding, all equipment is provided, and each group will have a dedicated lifeguard to keep them safe.

In fact, bodyboarding runs through the blood at Alive, did you know Ricky used to bodyboard on the Irish Surf Team?!

What’s included?

• 1.5 hours of supervised bodyboarding
• All equipment included
• Supervised at all times by a qualified beach lifeguard
• Lots and lots of fun and memories

What do I need to bring?

A towel, swimwear, sun cream if it is sunny (please be sunny!) and yourself!

Some quick bodyboarding history

Did you know that it was the American Tom Morey who crafted the first modern bodyboard we all know and love today? He first called it the boogie board in 1971. Portrush has produced a steady stream of bodyboarders since the 1990s who have competed at European and International levels – maybe you will be next!!

We have a very simple philosophy when it comes to our team of instructors – we only recruit the friendliest, most helpful, hard-working surfing instructors and lifeguards out there! We understand that the best surfing lessons revolve around having the best team to deliver them – our simple goal is to ‘be safe and have fun’ and over the last 20 years of teaching people to surf in Portrush, we have got pretty good at both!
