We are one of Irelands largest kitchen carcass manufacturers, established in 1980 we are trusted by customers in UK, Ireland and Europe to supply their dream kitchen. Our kitchens are designed to suit all budgets.

The business is still a family run business retaining many of its original customer with staff part of this story for over thirty years. We are looking forward to the next forty years and what the future holds for Exorna Kitchens & Bedrooms.

1981

Company Founded

In February 1981 William Oliver laid the foundations for an agricultural type building at Exorna Lane, Castlerock to manufacture kitchen units for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive which at the time were building several thousand homes annually in Northern Ireland.

1981

Machinery

Machinery was purchased, installed and the first kitchens delivered in May 1981 to a customer in Newry. At the time the business had five employees.

1987

Extensions

During the 1980’s extensions were continually added to the buildings at Exorna Lane. Machinery was constantly updated, employees increased to thirty and a retail showroom was opened in Coleraine.

1991

Ten Years On

By 1991, ten years since the start of Exorna, despite the factory space in Castlerock having increased to 20,000 sq. feet, the business need more room. The decision was taken to purchase 40,000 sq. feet of the vacant Sperrin Textiles Factory at Hillman’s Way, Coleraine.

On The Move

The entire manufacturing facility was moved to Coleraine and this facilitated the opening of a much larger showroom on site to facilitate a more extensive range of kitchens and fitted bedrooms.

1993

Continuing To Grow

Since then the business has continued to expand and as well as growth in turnover, we have installed machinery to manufacture doors in house, purchased the further 60,000 sq. feet of the Sperrin site and set up a sister company to fabricate and install stone worktops.

2018

Solid Surface NI

Exorna’s sister company Solid Surface NI supply, fabricate and install Cosentino Quartz and Ultra-compact surfaces, namely Silestone and Dekton. From day one Solid Surface NI has chosen only the very best machinery and materials available in the world.
